The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has announced new call-ups to the national team for two friendly matches at the end of March. The Real Madrid midfielder and Strasbourg Racing forward will join the list of players called up by Lionel Scaloni. Both matches will be held at La Bombonera stadium. These games will also serve as a farewell to the Argentine public before the team plays in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, where the team led by Lionel Messi will seek to defend the title won in Qatar 2022. The friendlies against Mauritania and Zambia will allow head coach Lionel Scaloni to test different team variants just months before the World Cup. Following the cancellation of the Finalissima against Spain, the Argentina national team will play two friendlies during this FIFA match window. The first match against Mauritania will be on March 27, and the second, against Zambia, on March 31. The ticket prices will be communicated on Saturday, with sales set to begin the following Monday.
